Parenting a child with special needs is sometimes just like parenting typically-developing children, and sometimes it feels worlds apart! This interactive workshop will focus on the unique challenges and joys of fathering children with special needs. Participants are welcome to share their own stories, concerns, and triumphs.

This is the first time we’ve offered this topic and we are excited to see what your stories, experiences, and questions are! This will be an informal talk, with fathers sharing their perspectives and inviting discussion of areas the group feels are most important. What have you learned the most by parenting your child who has a special need? What are the biggest challenges? We look forward to meeting you!
Hi Lori; I am attending the workshop – but as a vendor. My husband and I adopted two special needs kids and both are only 4 months apart. Wow – what a challenge that was/ and still is! Love it though. These kids (all special needs kids) are so blessed as well as us (the ones that raise them).
I have watched my own two grow w/ the company I respresent so much over the last year and 1/2 since I’ve joined. I was hoping that you could mention that while “Discovery Toys” offers toys, books, and games for every child – we now have those same things for Specials Needs and Autism. So if there is anyone whom would like to purchase some things for their “Special Needs” child, to make sure they come see me. I am the only consultant in the Metro Detroit area that specializes in “Special Needs & Autism”, so yes, 1) I would like to spread the word around – but 2), my passion is to help parents enjoy PLAY with their child thru LEARNING. It’s AMAZING!!!
Thanks so much! & Best Regards!
